Values Project targets youths self relience with "ONE YOUTH, ONE SKILL' program

 Youths in Enugu state now have a cause to be grateful as a program targeted at empowering them was initiated. The program which is termed "ONE YOUTH, ONE SKILL", was inducted on friday at the center for small and medium enterprises, Enugu. The program which is an initiative of Values Project witnessed a huge turn out of youths who indicated interest in various categories of the empowerment program.

 Speaking at the induction, Mr Anayo Agu, who is the special adviser to the governor on SME, praised Values Project, the organizer of the program for such a laudable and venture, and recounted the state government's commitment towards youth empowerment and entrepreneurship development in the state. He charged the youths to embrace this landmark initiative to create employments for themselves and others. He also intimated the participants on the openness of the SME center and its readiness to assist them in any meaningful venture.

 The initiator of the program and the Coordinator of Values Project, Comrade Chukwuma Ephraim Okenwa, while welcoming the youths for embracing the initiative, reminded them the need to become the pillars on which the economy of the country and the world will stand on. He challenged the youths to take up the responsibility of being in control of their life. He hammered on the two major life pursuits, which are career/family life and relaxation/entertainment. He regretted the attitude of the youths on these two major life pursuits, saying that the youths placed entertainment/relaxation above career/family life.

Mr Divine Ifedi of DIVINE IFEDI INTERNATIONAL, gave the youths a moral boost to succeed in both entrepreneurship and life goals. He gave the insight that all that one can be and achieve is in the mind and mindset. He motivated the youths never to relent on their dreams and to take every opportunity to network, saying that we all need people to succeed. The youths were pleased in their response for the opportunity to participate in such an empowering program.
The program which is expected to be continuous will last from a month to six months for the first participants.
